Geology :
The vineyards of the domain are spread out over the contact zones between the nappes resulting from the formation of the Black Mountain (Pardailhan nappe) and secondary posterior terrains (mesozoic Languedoc plain).
Terrains :
There are two types of terrain: the ancient limestone areas are especially favorable for Grenache and Syrah; the sandstone and sandy clay soils are used for growing Carignan vines..
Soil :
The limestone soils are composed of gravel mixed with clay; the sandstone soils are thicker, composed of clay and sand.
